CEE News and Program Updates
 
The students of the 2017 Research Science Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology wrapped up their intensive six-week research program on August 5th. Check out the CEE Facebook page for pictures from this year’s program. Applications for the 2018 Research Science Institute are now being accepted. Please check out the RSI program page for the latest news and application information.
Congratulations to Team USA who brought home four gold medals at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held at the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK in July! This year’s team members hailed from California, Massachusetts, and Texas. Check out the CEE Facebook page for pictures and related news. Registration for the 2018 USABO is now open!  Visit the USABO Portal to learn more about USABO and how to register your students for the 2018 Olympiad to be held at UC San Diego!

Fall 2017 TEP events have concluded for the year after a very successful session in Baltimore, MD. Many thanks go to our 2017 session hosts, speakers, and sponsors!

Planning is underway for Winter/Spring 2018 TEP events. Check out the Bite of Science and Teacher Roundtable pages for the latest schedule and registration information for sessions in Florida, Southern California, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Invites for events will arrive in inboxes one month prior the event. Seating is limited, so don’t delay in registering.  TEP events are a great way to connect with scientists and engineers in your community!

As you plan your classroom activities for 2018, don’t forget about the videos, slides, and supporting resources available for your use at no cost on the TEP Lab Bench website. 

BioSTEM Clubs
The BioSTEM Clubs program will be offered in eleven high schools across Virginia in 2017 -2018. Students will explore STEM careers, educational paths, cutting-edge research and develop STEM skills through engaging, cost-effective activities that are relevant to each clubs’ location and needs. Clubs will be connected to local STEM professionals, events and opportunities. Check out the BioSTEM Clubs page for school info and student resources.

The 2017 Research Science Initiative (RSI) at Tsinghua University wrapped up on August 19th.  Top-achieving 10th and 11th grade high school students of Chinese nationality gathered for six enriching weeks of challenging STEM coursework and cutting-edge individualized STEM research projects at Tsinghua University.
